MRI imaging produces high-quality, detailed images of the inside of the body. It uses a large magnet and radio wave to provide a non-invasive test that allows doctors to see the organs and soft tissues that are otherwise impossible without opening up the body. MRI imaging is a valuable and beneficial tool for diagnosing a broad range of diseases such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, primary bone tumors, spine, knee, shoulder, hip, elbow, and wrist injuries, and abnormalities such as an aneurysm.
When Will I Get the Results Of MRI Imaging?
MRI centers will have reports available 24 hours after imaging is performed. After the scan is performed, MRI centers will send the report to the patient’s primary healthcare provider, who will then analyze the information and share it with the patient. MRI imaging will be ready almost immediately, but it may take some time to interpret the images. If the results are needed urgently, they will typically be analyzed quickly by the primary healthcare provider. They may take up to a week or two if it isn’t urgent.
