What days is Michigan Diagnostics Center open?
We are open 7 days a week, including evenings and weekends, to ensure you can get the care you need when you need it.
How long does an MRI scan take?
Most MRI scans take between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the area being imaged and the number of sequences required. We will provide a time estimate when you schedule your appointment.
Do you accept my insurance?
Yes. Michigan Diagnostics Center accepts all major health insurance plans. We also welcome cash-pay patients. Contact us if you have questions about your specific coverage.
Are MRI scans safe?
MRI imaging does not use ionizing radiation. It uses magnetic fields and radio waves to produce images, making it safe for the vast majority of patients. Our team will review your medical history to confirm MRI is appropriate for you.
How should I prepare for my MRI?
Wear comfortable, metal-free clothing. Remove all jewelry, piercings, and metal objects before your scan. Let us know in advance if you have any implants, pacemakers, or metal fragments in your body.
How quickly will my physician receive the report?
Imaging reports are prepared and delivered to your referring physician within 24 hours of your scan.
Do you offer patient transportation?
Yes. We provide transportation for all patients who need it. When you call to schedule, let us know and we will make arrangements.
What is NeuroQuant?
NeuroQuant is an FDA-cleared software tool that analyzes brain MRI data to measure specific brain structures such as the hippocampus. These measurements help physicians identify and monitor neurological conditions.
What is a Weight Bearing MRI?
A Weight Bearing MRI, also called an axial-loaded MRI, is performed while simulating the compression experienced when standing. It is particularly useful for identifying spinal conditions that are not visible on traditional lying-down MRI scans.
What is an Arthrogram?
An arthrogram is a specialized imaging procedure where contrast dye is injected directly into a joint before MRI imaging. This provides highly detailed images of soft tissues, ligaments, and cartilage within the joint.
What is an MRA?
An MRA (Magnetic Resonance Angiography) is a specialized MRI for evaluating blood vessels. It detects conditions like aneurysms, stenosis, and other vascular abnormalities without traditional catheter angiography.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, you are welcome to bring a companion. Please check with our staff about whether your companion can wait in the imaging area or in our waiting room.
